Visa Process

Students planning to study in Italy for more than 90 days must apply for a Type D Student Visa through the Italian Embassy or Consulate.

The application process generally takes 4–8 weeks, and students are advised to apply at least three months before departure.

After arriving in Italy, students must apply for a Permesso di Soggiorno (Residence Permit) within 8 working days. This permit allows students to legally remain in Italy throughout their studies. Processing timelines may vary depending on the city and local immigration office.
